Civic Leader, Banker, Industrialist, Philanthropist

Conferred the Noble Knighthood of Saint Sylvester by His Holiness Pope John Paul II in 1984 for "helping the church for so many years in a variety of ways, without fanfare or publicity, without pomp and circumstances."  2-time President of the Federation of Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, who was accorded the monicker, "Grand Old Man of the Federation".  He was their first to be bestowed with the Chairman Emeritus Status.
